Liam Rosenior is looking for his first win as Chelsea manager at Stamford Bridge this Saturday afternoon.

The 41-year-old had a chance to pick it up during the week when Chelsea hosted Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie.

Chelsea have struggled against Brentford recently…

Can Liam Rosenior put things right on Saturday?

However, Mikel Arteta’s side were able to beat the Blues 3-2, giving them the advantage ahead of the second leg at the Emirates.

Until then, their focus will be on the Premier League and Champions League, which means full attention on Saturday’s west London derby.

Going forward, Rosenior could have more centre-back options to choose from as the Blues push for a new player in that position.

Right now, it looks like Rennes’ Jeremy Jacquet will be the centre-half who arrives in west London before the end of the transfer window.

It has been claimed that Jacquet has already agreed a contract with Chelsea.

Initially, it was thought that Chelsea would not make a move for a new central defender until the summer transfer window. However, the Blues have decided to act now.

It means the team’s current crop of centre-backs need to start showing some consistency when given an opportunity; otherwise, Jacquet or whoever the club sign will grab a spot in Rosenior’s XI. None of them can afford to make a mistake against Brentford.
