Enzo Maresca picked up his first Premier League win as Chelsea manager earlier following his side’s victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Chelsea managed to beat Wolves 6-2 and by doing so, Enzo Maresca became the first manager in Premier League history to do something.

His side were able to take an early lead after Nicolas Jackson scored in the second minute. Jackson went on to rile up the Wolves fans, and it looked like he may have done it too soon after Matheus Cunha’s equaliser.

However, Chelsea still went on to win the game and in impressive style after putting six past the home team.

Enzo Maresca’s Premier League record

Maresca would have just wanted to win the game, especially after losing 2-0 to Manchester City last Sunday.

Scoring six goals was just a bonus, but a very good one because according to Opta, Maresca is the first manager in Premier League history to watch his side net six times in his first away game in charge.

The new Chelsea manager has a great opportunity to build on that as well, with the Blues’ next league game being against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca to use similar attack against Crystal Palace?

Maresca may now be tempted to go with a similar forward line for that game. The only player you would expect to be dropped is Mykhailo Mudryk.

The Ukrainian struggled at Molineux before being replaced by Pedro Neto at half-time, with the former Wolves man coming on to assist Joao Felix.

Given that Felix was able to score, he will also be pushing for a start. A lot could depend on what happens in the second leg of Chelsea’s Conference League play-off tie before then — the Blues take on Servette 2-0 up.

One player who definitely has to start against Palace, though, is Noni Madueke after his hat-trick. Madueke combined so well with Cole Palmer and deserves to keep his spot in the team.
