Chelsea beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 6-2 at Molineux on Sunday, with the team’s attacking players firing them to victory.

Noni Madueke was the star of the game after scoring a hat-trick, while Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson also managed to get their names on the scoresheet.

Palmer was also able to register three assists, setting up all three of Madueke’s goals. Former Chelsea manager Glenn Hoddle was really impressed with Palmer, who looks set to have another big season.

The Blues will be looking to build on their win against Wolves when they take on Crystal Palace this Sunday.

Janusz Michallik discusses Cole Palmer’s role against Wolves

Last season, Palmer often played on the right for Chelsea, but Enzo Maresca decided to use him in a more central position in the win at Molineux.

For Janusz Michallik, it was a bit of a masterstroke, and the former USA international now wants to see the 22-year-old play there more regularly.

Speaking about Palmer’s performance on ESPN FC after the game, the pundit said: “Cole Palmer playing centrally, which I think everybody is asking for and he looked good. What did he have, three assists? Wonderful goal as well. We’ll see, but that’s probably a place for him.”

Palmer matched a Cesc Fabregas feat with his hat-trick of assists against Wolves, with the Englishman really proving to be more than a goalscorer for Chelsea.

Should Enzo Maresca start Cole Palmer in the No.10 position?

It makes a lot of sense, and not just because Palmer has shown that he can thrive there following his performance against Wolves.

By using the £45m England international behind the striker, it will allow Maresca to start Madueke on the right, for example.

Ultimately, the Italian needs to try and get as many of these talented Chelsea attackers in the team as possible. And playing Palmer as the No.10 in a 4-2-3-1 formation may be the best way to do that.

Madueke caused Wolves so many problems, while Pedro Neto and Joao Felix were threats when they came on, combining for Chelsea’s sixth goal. It is now up to Maresca to fully utilise all of this attacking talent that he has.
