Raheem Sterling’s crossing was extremely wayward in Chelsea’s victory over Blackburn Rovers last night.
That is according to ESPN pundit Frank Leboeuf.
Chelsea recorded a 2-0 home victory on Wednesday night against Championship team Blackburn.
The Blues have now set up a Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Newcastle United, who have already eliminated both Manchester City and Manchester United in this season’s tournament.

Mixed bag for Raheem Sterling
Frank Leboeuf did single out Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling for some criticism after yesterday’s cup win versus Blackburn.
In particular, the £50million winger’s (The Guardian) crossing disappointed him.
“The result is good. The way that Chelsea played doesn’t allow me to say that was good…” Leboeuf told ESPN.
“Even if Chelsea were better than Blackburn, there were so many mistakes. So many bad crosses from Sterling, for example.”
On the flip side, Sterling did get on the scoresheet in the second-half after an opening goal from Benoit Badiashile.
The 28-year-old Englishman curled in a superb right-footed finish into the top corner.
It means he’s now Chelsea’s top goalscorer so far this season with four goals in 12 appearances.
Speaking via talkSPORT earlier this week, Martin Keown said that the Chelsea team are really relying on Sterling right now.
Chelsea chance for silverware
With zero European football at Stamford Bridge this season, there’s extra pressure to do well in the domestic cup competitions.
The Blues are into a quarter-final in the Carabao Cup, with the tournament looking fairly open following the exits of both Man City and Arsenal. It’s an incredibly tough assignment to beat Newcastle, though.
Mauricio Pochettino has never won a piece of silverware with an English club as a manager, with all his trophy success coming at Paris Saint-Germain. Now, his Chelsea side are two steps away from a cup final at Wembley.
There needs to be a big improvement to the team’s form in the Premier League, but this cup run is a much-needed distraction.
