Nicolas Jackson has been one of the standout performers for Chelsea so far this season, and he grabbed another goal for Senegal vs Malawi.
Enzo Maresca has gotten the very best out of a number of players already this season, with Nicolas Jackson being one of them.
The Senegalese striker already has four goals and three assists to his name in eight appearances for Chelsea, as the main man leading the line.
However, he was a bit of a naught boy last time out after the full-time whistle against Nottingham Forest, as he was seen slapping Nottingham Forest player Morato in an altercation.
Jackson got a lucky escape though, as he wasn’t given a ban of any kind.
Now, he’s been playing away on international duty for Senegal and it’s not gone too badly.

Nicolas Jackson’s performance in numbers against Malawi
Nicolas Jackson featured for 81 minutes during the first game of Senegal’s international break.
He bagged a goal but didn’t cause many problems. The striker had one shot on target and one shot off target, completed his only dribble, had 31 touches, a passing accuracy of 82%, won three of his six duels, lost possession seven times, was fouled once, and made one tackle (as per SofaScore).
Of course, playing with his Senegal teammates is obviously going to be different in terms of quality compared to Chelsea, with Cole Palmer and Jadon Sancho laying things on a plate.
Interestingly, Filip Jorgensen has already been impressed by Jackson after playing together at Villareal.
The advice Joe Cole has given Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea
Jackson was criticised in the last campaign and at the start of this season, but he’s improved since then and is one of the first names on the team sheet under Maresca.
Interestingly, Joe Cole offered some advice to Jackson.
“He’s come in for a lot of stick.
“He’s a young striker learning his trade, and he’s learning it on the biggest stage. He’s scoring goals. The one thing is, I hope he’s confident.
“He’s had a great start, a great pre-season, and took his second goal at West Ham brilliantly.”
