Jamie O’Hara says Chelsea’s player did something superb in Sunday’s draw at home to Crystal Palace.

Chelsea signed off for the September international break with a 1-1 draw at home to London rivals Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Nicolas Jackson’s first-half goal put the hosts in front at Stamford Bridge. However, Palace star Eberechi Eze equalised with his shot from outside the box in the second-half to level the match up.

Enzo Maresca was left fuming Will Hughes wasn’t sent off, so the visitors were perhaps a tad fortunate to keep a full team on the park.

Jamie O’Hara amazed by Cole Palmer assist

Sky Sports pundit Jamie O’Hara absolutely loved the role of Chelsea’s Cole Palmer in the hosts’ goal versus Palace. The 22-year-old playmaker, who operated in a No.10 position again, passed perfectly across goal to tee up Jackson’s finish into an empty net.

When reacting to Chelsea’s opening goal against Palace, O’Hara said on Sky Sports: “[Noni] Madueke drives down the outside on the right. Cole Palmer makes a run, and he just slips him in with a great weighted pass.

“Cole Palmer is then inside the box, and he plays one, left-footed outside of the boot, and it beats everyone. It’s a great ball. The weight of the ball, the keeper can’t get there. It’s a tap-in for Nicolas Jackson to make it 1-0. The deftest of touch from Cole Palmer, absolutely fantastic.”

Palmer was a goal machine during his debut season at Chelsea last year. Well, he’s started the new campaign as the team’s creative force, which is largely down to him playing centrally in pockets of space.
