Enzo Maresca turned to Alejandro Garnacho off the bench during Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Brentford, however Jamie Redknapp was not totally impressed by his debut.
Maresca brought on Garnacho with 11 minutes to go and the Blues chasing a winner, with the game poised at 1-1.
The Argentine played a key part in Moises Caicedo’s thunderous strike, however Chelsea were unable to hold on to their lead in added time.
Mark Clattenburg exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that Fabio Carvalho’s goal should have been disallowed for an offside, however the flag didn’t come for the Blues.

Jamie Redknapp reacts to Alejandro Garnacho’s Chelsea debut
When looking at the goal, fingers were pointed at Garnacho’s inability to track Carvalho at the back post was criticised, with the long throw-in going all the way through via a flick-on.
Redknapp was amongst those who criticised the new Chelsea man, saying he fell asleep in the crucial moment that ended up costing the Blues.
He told Sky Sports: “Garnacho has got a job to do. He’s got to mark Carvalho. If he gets in behind, it’s on you. He falls asleep at the vital moment, they get that contact, and there he is at the back post.
The Blues have clearly not signed the player for his defensive work, however will be disappointed that his reactions were not up to scratch after only being on the pitch for a few minutes.

Gianfranco Zola also explained Garnacho mistake
Chelsea icon Gianfranco Zola also spoke about Garnacho’s part in the goal, and believes he was guilty of watching the ball rather than paying attention to Carvalho.
He said: “The mistake is the same. You start looking at the ball, and you lose the man. The ball isn’t going to score, it’s the man.”
One thing that is for certain is that the Argentine showed far more intent on the left of attack than Jamie Gittens did, after making his second start for the Blues.
Chelsea fans were not impressed by Gittens, and it is unlikely the Englishman retains his place for the game against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
