Nicolas Jackson hailed Chelsea teammate Conor Gallagher after last night’s dramatic away win at Tottenham.

Chelsea collected a much-needed three points in the Premier League on Monday evening with a 4-1 victory.

It was a happy return to North London for Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino, whose side become the first team to beat Spurs in the league this season.

They jump up to 10th in the table on 15 points from 11 games. Next, the Blues host league leaders Manchester City on Sunday before November’s international break.

Monday night’s London derby had it all with goals, disallowed goals, red cards and VAR controversy.

Dejan Kulusevski’s sixth minute deflected shot put Spurs 1-0 ahead, but an action-packed game changed when Spurs received the first of their two red cards.

Cristian Romero was sent off for a forceful foul in the penalty box, with Cole Palmer levelling it at 1-1 from the resulting spot-kick. Incidentally, Blues legend John Terry fumed on X that Romero wasn’t sent off earlier in the piece after kicking out at Levi Colwill on the ground.

Spurs lost another player when Destiny Udogie was rightly shown a second booking in the 55th minute.

It was torturous for Chelsea fans watching their side struggle to get past the nine-man Spurs defence, but eventually a Nicolas Jackson hat-trick in the final 15 minutes gave the visitors a deserved win. The centre-forward now needs to take the confidence of these goals into the upcoming fixtures.

Conor Gallagher praise

Conor Gallagher, 23, continued in the heart of a Chelsea midfield with Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

He was part of the Blues side that was running out of ideas against nine-man Spurs at one stage, but he did provide an assist for Jackson’s second goal.

Gallagher celebrated Chelsea’s win with an Instagram post, which hat-trick hero Jackson responded to by calling him a “machine”.

We’re seeing some odd criticism at Chelsea for the win at Spurs.

Yes, the Blues looked sloppy at times and couldn’t put the game to bed until stoppage time.

Let’s not forget that they’ve dispatched an unbeaten Spurs team 4-1 in their own backyard, though!
