Raheem Sterling put in one of his best performances in a Chelsea shirt during this weekend’s game against Manchester City.
In fairness, even some opposition fans on social media couldn’t help but praise the 28-year-old’s display.
Chelsea recorded a dramatic 4-4 draw on Sunday at home to Man City, which was the final match before this month’s international break.
In our view, Mauricio Pochettino’s side can take massive confidence from it after going toe-to-toe with the best club side around.

Eight-goal thriller
Remarkably, this game eclipsed Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Tottenham when it comes to drama.
Erling Haaland’s 25th minute penalty, which the visitors were a tad lucky to win, put Man City in front. However, there was almost an immediate response through Thiago Silva’s headed equaliser.
Raheem Sterling then put Chelsea in front against his former club with a close-range finish. Manuel Akanji made it 2-2 on the stroke of half-time with his header, though.
Haaland added his second straight after the break before Nicolas Jackson’s equaliser midway through the second-half.
It looked like Rodri’s late deflected strike would hand Man City all three points in a Premier League epic. However, Cole Palmer, who Man City sold to Chelsea in the summer, stepped up in stoppage time to convert his penalty and make it 4-4.
Raheem Sterling shines
A selection of Man City supporters on social media conceded that Sterling was electric on Sunday against them.
He had a stellar career at the Etihad Stadium as a player, but he’s now a Chelsea star really beginning to impress in West London.
The 28-year-old winger was constantly tormenting the opposition defence, especially Kyle Walker, for 90 minutes.
It makes his omission from the England squad this month even more crazy. Speaking via X this week, Paul Merson said he was “shocked” at the international omission.
