Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has been discussing Cole Palmer after his incredible display in Chelsea’s 4-2 win against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Cole Palmer scored all four of Chelsea‘s goals as the Blues went on to secure another three points.
It was their third consecutive win in the Premier League this season, taking them up to fourth in the table and just two points behind leaders Liverpool.
Estevao Willian was one player who replied to Palmer’s Instagram after the game, where the England international labelled the afternoon “perfect”.

Micah Richards on Cole Palmer’s movement for Chelsea
Last season, Palmer scored 25 goals in all competitions for Chelsea. This term, he has already managed six.
At Chelsea, Palmer has proven to be a deadly finisher, but it is not only his finishing that has impressed Richards.
Discussing the player’s movement on Match of the Day, the retired defender said: “He is unbelievable. I think for me, when he scored 22 Premier League goals last season, could he do it again this season? That was the big question mark.
“People talk about touch and technique a lot, they don’t talk about his movement enough. I think the timings of his runs are brilliant. I think everything he done is just effortless, the way he does it. When we talk about the brains of footballers, he’s just so ahead of the game. He is just a joy to watch.”
Another pundit also had praise for Palmer following his four-goal display. “Special player”, Alan Shearer said when talking about Palmer.
Cole Palmer the complete attacker
Against Brighton and across the six games Palmer has played in the Premier League so far this season, he has shown he has everything.
Palmer can obviously score goals, but he also showed that he is not bad at set-pieces either with that excellent free-kick that beat Bart Verbruggen.
The 22-year-old can set up teammates as well, registering three assists in Chelsea’s 6-2 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers last month.
Simply put, Palmer looks like the complete attacker. Playing alongside the likes of Jadon Sancho and Nicolas Jackson, he can help Enzo Maresca‘s side to go far this season.
Jackson did not manage to score on Saturday and missed a couple of good opportunities. But Jackson is proving to be a real team player right now, also setting up goals for his teammates like Palmer, and that will only aid Chelsea as well.
