Chelsea managed to get the better of West Ham United on Saturday lunchtime in what was a ruthless display from Enzo Maresca’s men.

Nicolas Jackson was the star in the first-half as he grabbed a brace to put the Blues 2-0 up.

Not long after the second-half had started he laid the ball on a plate for Cole Palmer to score for Chelsea‘s third in a world-class display from the striker.

Indeed, Jackson has come under some criticism for his performances so far this season, but he silenced those doubters with his performance against the Hammers.

However, there was another Chelsea player whose performance went under the radar…

Nicolas Jackson’s stats during Chelsea vs West Ham

Nicolas Jackson’s stats don’t really tell the story of how well he played.

He had a part to play in every goal for the Blues with his two goals and an assist before being substituted off around the 60th minute mark.

The striker had just 30 touches, two shots on target, a passing accuracy of 82%, made two key passes, created one big chance, won one of his four duels, one clearance and one interception.

Enzo Maresca will be hoping this is a sign of things to come for Jackson.

Moises Caicedo was the unsung hero for Chelsea vs West Ham

Moises Caicedo has had his fair share of criticism since joining Chelsea for a mammoth fee, but today was one of those days where you just have to sit and admire the midfielder.

The South American was absolutely everywhere, breaking up play, connecting midfield to attack and putting in last-ditch tackles, as well as providing an assist for the second goal.

He had 74 touches, a passing accuracy of 89%, made one key pass, two long balls, created one big chance, won 13 duels, two clearances, eight tackles, two blocks and one interception.

Troy Deeney praised Caicedo for his performance against Bournemouth last weekend, as he stated that he’s starting to deliver, so hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
