Robert Sanchez has taken to Instagram after his mistake against Brighton with a message to Chelsea fans.

Chelsea extended their unbeaten streak in the Premier League with a win over Brighton.

Cole Palmer grabbed four in what was arguably his best performance in a Chelsea shirt, with all of the goals coming in the first-half.

It wasn’t all easy, as Brighton took an early lead through Georginio Rutter following a mistake that some may blame Robert Sanchez for. He raced off his line, which allowed the Brighton man to score.

The goalkeeper was definitely as fault for the Seagulls’ second goal as he passed the ball straight to Carlos Baleba who raced through on goal and slotted under Sanchez.

Now, Sanchez has taken to Instagram to speak out on his mistakes and send a message to the Chelsea fans.

Robert Sanchez sends message to Chelsea fans on Instagram

Chelsea fans were calling for Robert Sanchez to be dropped during the first half of today’s game.

However, he did pull off a number of good stops and improved his game in the second half; it’s just frustrating that these type of mistakes are creeping into his game.

Talking on Instagram, Robert Sanchez had his say on the game.

“Mistakes happen – we’re all human, except the legend Cold Palmer. Thank you fans…. This group can achieve big things together! One day I help , the next day they help me , this is how we grow as a team.”

Robert Sanchez’s stats from Chelsea vs Brighton

Robert Sanchez made four saves, four successful runouts, one save from inside the box, one error that led to a goal, 66 touches, a 71% passing accuracy and four out of 18 of his long balls successful.

One positive is the fact that Sanchez admitted he’s the fittest he’s been in two years, which should bode well as we head into a busy period with Europe and cup games over the next month or two.

He’s been impressive in other games and is clearly trusted by Enzo Maresca, so this performance is unlikely to affect his place in the side.
