Romeo Lavia praised one Chelsea youngster after his performance in this week’s Carabao Cup victory against Barrow.
Chelsea continued their recent momentum by thrashing League Two club Barrow 5-0 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. As a result, the Blues are now into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Blues head coach Enzo Maresca watched a number of his players impress in midweek, including hat-trick hero Christopher Nkunku. The reality is that Maresca needs to somehow find room for Nkunku in his best XI, but the competition for places in attack is stiff this season.
There were a number of Chelsea youngsters that got minutes in the cup win over Barrow, too.

Romeo Lavia hails Tyrique George
Chelsea’s Romeo Lavia, who’s still currently out injured, reacted on social media after the substitute performance from Blues youngster Tyrique George last night.
Lavia wrote on his Instagram story alongside a picture of George: “My starboy”.
Josh Acheampong, who’s another Chelsea academy graduate, also got some first-team minutes with a runout against Barrow.

George, 18, is a rising talent making a lot of noise in the Blues academy. Hopefully, he’s the next youngster to burst into the first-team squad on a permanent basis.
The exciting winger made his senior debut earlier in the season against Servette in a Conference League play-off tie. He was then give just under half an hour to impress last night in the League Cup.
George did drag one shot wide when gifted with a great chance to score, but overall it was an eye-catching cameo from a teenager with so much potential.
