In the first half of Chelsea’s Premier League match against Bournemouth on Saturday, Moises Caicedo would have been delighted with Robert Sanchez.

With Reece James and Enzo Fernandez missing the trip to Bournemouth, Moises Caicedo captained the side.

The midfielder saw teammate Robert Sanchez save a first-half penalty, preventing Chelsea from going into the break 1-0 down.

However, while Caicedo would have been happy with that, there was one moment during those first 45 minutes where the 22-year-old and Sanchez were seen arguing with each other.

Robert Sanchez and Moises Caicedo’s argument during Bournemouth vs Chelsea

By full-time, Sanchez, Caicedo and Chelsea had a lot to smile about, picking up all three points thanks to Christopher Nkunku’s late winner.

It was probably Sanchez’s best performance in a Chelsea shirt, with the 26-year-old making several saves on top of his penalty stop.

However, according to BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Sanchez and Caicedo had a little bit of an argument in the first half after almost falling victim to a Bournemouth pressing trap.

Next up for Chelsea is another away game against West Ham United before a Carabao Cup tie versus Barrow, which Sanchez is likely to miss. Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Sanchez will be rested in the cup matches this season.

Maresca will be happy with both the performances of Sanchez and Caicedo at the Vitality Stadium.

Not much more needs to be said about the former, but as for the latter, he was everywhere on the pitch, putting in tackles and winning the ball back.

Alongside Renato Veiga in the middle of the park, Caicedo gave Chelsea quite a strong and physical midfield.

Match-winner Nkunku and Jadon Sancho will take most of the credit for the Blues’ victory and rightly so. Sancho was amazing when he came on, setting up Nkunku’s goal.

But without Sanchez and Caicedo, Maresca’s men probably would have been losing by the time Nkunku and Sancho were introduced to the game. Chelsea fans will now be hoping that this quartet can make a similar impact at Stamford Bridge as the season progresses.
