Graham Potter has hinted that Mykhailo Mudryk could be recalled to the Chelsea team against Leicester City.

The Blues return to Premier League action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to the King Power Stadium.

Chelsea have beaten Leicester in three of their last four meetings with them, plus they go into Saturday off the back of some great recent results.

Potter’s side beat Leeds last weekend in the Premier League. They qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals by beating Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night, too.

Mudryk, who’s been an unused substitute in the last two games, may get on the pitch against Leicester.

Potter has confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the 22-year-old is in tomorrow’s match day squad.

In addition, he shared that an injury blow to Raheem Sterling means Mudryk could get his opportunity to impress.

Potter said, as quoted by Football London: “He (Mudryk) certainly comes into the equation. He is a player we believe in a lot and is adapting to the new situation. When he arrived, he was at the start of a pre-season campaign really. So to come in and hit the Premier League running is not easy to do. But day by day, and week by week, he is getting stronger. He will be in the squad tomorrow and there is a chance he can play.”

With Sterling doubtful to face Leicester, Mudryk could make sense as a like-for-like replacement.

The Ukraine international is still trying to find top gear since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk in January, but certain players adjust to a new league at different rates.

He’s had a couple of games sat watching on the bench without the scrutiny on him. Hopefully, the left-winger is now feeling more settled and determined to impress.

The competition within the Chelsea squad is very fierce right now, so he needs to shine if he gets on the pitch.

Journalist Simon Phillips recently explained that Potter has held private conversations with Mudryk about why he’s not been picked recently.

It would be great to see the attacker come into the side and do well this weekend.
