One Chelsea youngster has now been honoured as one of the best players in his position despite being just 16 years of age.

According to Simon Johnson, Kendry Paez has recently been named the top attacking midfielder in the Ecuadorian league, as well as the young player of the season.

There is a lot of excitement at Chelsea regarding the upcoming addition of Paez to their ranks. He is set to join up with the squad in 2025.

However, he wont be coming without experience at the top level. He has established himself as a crucial member of the Ecuador senior side already.

Alongside Moises Caicedo, he has gone a long way towards helping his country to qualify for the upcoming World Cup.

He has set a few records on the way too, breaking some set by the likes of Brazil legend Pele.

Paez best attacking midfielder in Ecuador

It seems as if in the early stage of his career he has already been further recognized for his abilities, with Johnson listing his accolades for the recently-finished campaign.

He said: “Pretty remarkable this. Kendry Paez, who will complete a move to Chelsea from Independiente del Valle next year, has been awarded best young player and best offensive midfielder in Ecuador at 16. Also named in Liga Pro’s team of the year.”

Paez is reportedly going to be joining up with the first team at the end of the English season to complete some pre-season training with the squad before his arrival the season after.

With a number of young players being brought in by Todd Boehly since he took over the club, there is a lot of hope for them to provide brilliance for the future. None more so than for Paez, who many are tipping for a seriously impressive career in the game.
