A lot of attention of Chelsea fans has been on Mason Mount when discussing Manchester United this season.

The England international has not had the best of starts to life at Old Trafford, after the very public way he got himself out of Stamford Bridge.

It looks as if the midfielder could be about to get through the entire year of 2023 without either a goal or an assist to his name, which would be staggering based on some of his previous campaigns for the Blues.

Tonight presents the first opportunity for the player to face the side who he grew up with, with the Blues travelling to Old Trafford for tonight’s Premier League game.

However, United’s official team news preview has stated that his recent injury could see the reunion come just too soon.

They said: “The game may come too early for the likes of Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen, Amad and former Blues midfielder Mason Mount, although they are on the road to recovery.”

Mount not fit to face Chelsea

Chelsea will be looking to banish their own Old Trafford demons tonight, with them more than a decade without a win at the famous old stadium.

Raheem Sterling will also be looking to break his own duck against United, with him yet to find the net against them in all competitions so far in his career.

He is 24 games without a goal against the Red Devils, and tonight would be a great time for him to finally find the net.

Chelsea fans will have to wait until much later in the season until they have the opportunity to see Mount in action again, with him coming back to Stamford Bridge for the very first time as an opposing player.
