Chelsea fans will have spotted a positive sign about Armando Broja in a video uploaded by the club yesterday afternoon.

The Blues posted a training clip on X which showed several of their players in shooting practice.

Interestingly, Armando Broja can be picked out alongside some of his Chelsea teammates scoring some impressive goals.

The 22-year-old’s missed the club’s previous four games across all competitions with a knee injury, but perhaps it’s a sign that he’s ready to return this weekend for the Premier League fixture at home to Manchester City.

Hopefully, Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino provides an update on the player’s fitness during Friday’s pre-match press conference.

Armando Broja availability

Speaking via Chelsea’s official YouTube channel last week, Pochettino said that Broja could return to the matchday squad against Tottenham. However, the young centre-forward wasn’t involved during Monday night’s 4-1 win against Spurs.

Our guess is he’ll be ready to make the bench versus Man City after another week in training.

He’ll want to forget a horrid 2023 that has been wrecked by injury, but there’s definitely a chance for him to become a first-team regular this season.

For now, Broja and Nicolas Jackson are vying for the No 9 striker position.

Jackson, 22, made his move with a hat-trick earlier this week against Spurs. The jury is still out on him as an all-round player, though.

Chelsea are finally scoring

In fairness, we’ve seen in recent weeks the Blues side finally begin to find the back of the net more regularly.

Pochettino’s side have scored two goal or more in each of their previous six games across all competition. You’d suspect they may need to do similar this weekend against Man City.

There’s been a spread of goal across the squad with several different individuals chipping in.

Chelsea are still desperately searching for that play who can score 20-plus goals a season for them, but there’s at least positive signs that there’s goal in this team.
