One Chelsea player has seen his latest Premier League performance recognized by being named in the Team of the Week.

WhoScored have named goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic as the man between the sticks for the side who represented their clubs in the recent gameweek that was played over two weekends.

You have to go back to January 13 for the last time the Blues were involved in a Premier League match against the side who are located closest to them geographically.

They lined up against Fulham off the back of a poor performance in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg, which they needed to bounce back from quickly to try and restore some good feeling around Stamford Bridge.

While it was not a vintage display, a Cole Palmer penalty was the difference between the sides that sent the Blues into the top half of the table.

However, some of the more impressive performances came at the back, with Petrovic in particular coming to his side’s rescue on a number of occasions.

The display was actually a staple of how he has been playing since he came into the side at the end of last year.

The 24-year-old has assured those who frequently had fears regarding Robert Sanchez being in goal, particularly when the ball was at his feet.

Up to now, there have been no errors with either his feet or his hands to note of for the former MLS star, and he will have left Mauricio Pochettino with a decision to make when the Spaniard is back to full fitness.

Right now, it would seem as if it would be a harsh call to drop Petrovic based on what he has provided at the back in his limited run of games in the Premier League and domestic cup competitions.
