Reports have claimed that defender Trevoh Chalobah has decided that he wants to leave Chelsea this summer.

According to the Evening Standard, the Blues have set an asking price of £45m to sell the player in this transfer window.

With injury problems infecting the central defensive area, Chalobah has been called upon frequently by Mauricio Pochettino during the pre-season tour of the United States.

However, his appearance last night only lasted about 15 minutes, with injury forcing the breakup of a partnership of himself and Levi Colwill for the second half.

The manager hinted after the game that he was still hoping for another centre-back to come in this summer, before they get their Premier League campaign against Liverpool.

Chalobah ready to leave

With him stating this was due to Wesley Fofana’s injury, it is easy to expect that he is hoping for a defender who can play on the right of a back two.

This has seemingly passed on to Chalobah, who is now reportedly open to leaving the club this summer.

Reports have failed to go away in recent days anyway that the club were keen to sell the Englishman still, despite him enjoying a strong first team career at Stamford Bridge so far.

However, it seems their intentions lie elsewhere, and a deal for a new defender to come in has essentially already been completed.

The Blues are closing in on signing Axel Disasi from Monaco, with him being given the opportunity to reform a prior defensive partnership with Benoit Badiashile.

Any defender coming in this season will have the opportunity to learn from one of the best in Thiago Silva, who is likely entering his final season in West London.
