Chelsea’s momentum took a big hit at the weekend as they were defeated 2-0 at home against Brentford in the West London derby.
However, Sofascore’s Premier League Team of the Week has still named Marc Cucurella in their statistical side for the previous round of fixtures.
Cucurella was handed another start back in his preferred left-back position at the weekend, as Mauricio Pochettino again tweaked his backline.

Axel Disasi returned to the starting side in the right-back role, where he had not actually featured in up to now.
It seems as if he may not feature there again anytime soon. It was a disappointing performance from the Frenchman, who looked far more comfortable in a central defensive role.
Fresh from a strong performance up against Bukayo Saka in the big game against Arsenal a week prior, the Spaniard again held his own in the left-back role on Saturday despite another home defeat.
Cucurella in Team of the Week
He actually found himself having arguably Chelsea’s best two chances in front of goal, although they unfortunately fell on his right foot both times.
Somehow though, the 25-year-old was named as part of the Premier League Team of the Week for his efforts despite the 2-0 defeat.
When looking at other fixtures this weekend, it feels generous for sure that a Chelsea player has made it into the side.
Previous Blues transfer target Josko Gvardiol had an extremely enjoyable time of things in the Manchester derby on Sunday at left-back, and surely earned himself a place in any team of the week side.
With Reece James closing in on a return to the Chelsea side, it could see Levi Colwill move back to the left of defence, and therefore see Cucurella drop back to the bench again.
