Reports have claimed that Chelsea winger Noni Madueke has been brilliant in first team training in recent weeks.

According to the Evening Standard, the forward has improved a lot ever since he was publicly criticized by Mauricio Pochettino.

This season has no doubt been a frustrating one so far for Madueke, who has found opportunities extremely difficult to come by under the new manager.

He was only handed his first league start of the campaign in the last Premier League game against Brentford.

The youngster started brightly too, smashing an effort against the crossbar after just 10 minutes.

His appearances have normally been held for League Cup action. However, when the manager chose a strong squad in order to confirm their place in the quarter-finals, Madueke was again on the bench.

Madueke impressing in training

It’s fair to say things have not worked out perfectly since his £29m addition, however he must accept part of the blame on himself for how things have played out this season.

A video surfaced earlier this season capturing him partying, which the manager made a point of stating was not good enough for a Chelsea player to be doing.

However, it has now been claimed that the England U21 star has taken this moment well, using it to set an example in training.

This response pales in comparison to the reaction of Jadon Sancho when a similar situation took place at Manchester United.

After being dropped for a game early in the season, the one-time Chelsea transfer target has not been seen or even trained with the first team since.

It remains to be seen if Madueke will be utilized tonight against Tottenham, or if instead Pochettino will look to bring Mykhailo Mudryk back into the fold.
