Reports have claimed that Chelsea’s Axel Disasi is now set to change his position slightly in the coming weeks.

According to the Evening Standard, the Frenchman is first in line to fill in the right-back position after Mauricio Pochettino was handed a headache following Sunday.

Disasi has been an ever-present starter for the Blues this season, after joining for £38m over the summer.

Despite there being not too much fanfare surrounding his addition, he has been a perfectly solid member of a backline that data has suggested is performing well.

The right-back role is one of the few in the team that has seen any change this season. Reece James started the league opener against Liverpool.

However, he suffered an injury following that game that has not seen him return as of yet.

In his place, Malo Gusto has been deputising, and that change had been relatively positive up to now.

Unfortunately, things took a turn at the weekend when they welcomed Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Blues fell to a 1-0 defeat, when they were unable to hold on following a red card handed to the Frenchman early in the second half.

With James still not yet ready to return, Pochettino has a conundrum to solve as to who will line-up on the right of defence.

It has now been claimed that Disasi is set for this responsibility, after he has completed the job for his former side in France.

This could see a change many Chelsea fans have been calling for, with Levi Colwill able to shift to the middle of defence where he is strongest.
