Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling is quite a bit ahead of his peers as the player in the top seven leagues with the most touches in the opposition box.

The statistic tweeted by Squawka shows he has 49 touches to his name, with that figure putting him ahead of the likes of Bukayo Saka and Kylian Mbappe.

Sterling has had a pretty strong start to the season at Stamford Bridge, with it being a campaign he no doubt will have put massive pressure on himself regarding.

He will be the first to admit that last season was not up to standards as far as both he personally goes and how the team did.

This tough campaign came after he joined for £50m, with plenty of expectations over what he was going to provide in West London.

Sterling ahead of Saka and Mbappe

The performance at Stamford Bridge against Luton Town was a sign that his hard work over the summer is beginning to pay off. He scored twice and set up the other one in a 3-0 win.

Chelsea have struggled greatly in front of goal in the last 18 months, and someone being active in the penalty area is certainly something they are looking for.

The fact that Sterling ranks higher than Arsenal star Saka and even World Cup golden boot winner Mbappe is a sign that he is picking up the right areas in order for things to click soon.

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping this comes after the international break, with them in the bottom half of the table after the opening four games.

They have just one win so far, and will be hoping to add to this with the match against Bournemouth on Sunday.
