Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed the value of Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku has decreased significantly since he joined in the summer.
The Blues splashed out a club-record transfer fee of £97.5million at the start of the season to bring Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge from Inter Milan.
He’s scored 12 goals in 36 games across all competitions this season, but there’s been an overall disappointment about his impact.
The Belgian forward’s been a goal machine at pretty much every club he’s played for in his career, so you can always bank on him to chip in with goals.
However, his performances have seen him lose his starting position in Chelsea’s best XI. Kai Havertz, 22, is currently the Blues star spearheading the attack really impressively.
TalkSPORT pundit Agbonlahor suggests Chelsea would struggle to even get £50million if they sold Lukaku this summer.
“I don’t think they get £50million now for Lukaku. I think someone could come in with a sneaky bid of £40million and Chelsea are in a position where he doesn’t suit the way they play now,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.

Lukaku future
It remains to be seen what Lukaku’s short-term future looks like.
There’s been reports that Paris Saint-Germain have spoken with the striker’s agent about a possible summer transfer, albeit it’s unclear on if Chelsea will be willing to sell.
It should be down to Blues manager Thomas Tuchel to work out whether or not the frontman can be an important part of his plans.
If not, looking to cash in on what they can at the end of this season makes sense.
