It was never going to take long for there to be murmurings of discontent at Chelsea due to the size and quality of the first team squad.

Enzo Maresca has often made as many as 11 changes between games when they prepare for Conference League matches, and those who feature there have been impressing on a regular basis.

Mykhailo Mudryk will have felt he deserved a start after his excellent display in their last outing against Noah. He has five goal contributions in three games in that competition.

Christopher Nkunku has also used his minutes to great effect in the cup games this season. He is currently the club’s top scorer in all competitions ahead of the likes of Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson.

Christopher Nkunku has not asked to leave Chelsea

However, reports have emerged that Nkunku is growing frustrated at his minutes this season, and is wanting more of a role in Premier League games.

Despite this, Ben Jacobs has claimed he has not heard of any action from the Frenchman that involves him asking to leave the club as of yet.

He told the ‘London is Blue’ podcast: “Nkunku you would expect to start games in the festive period or the second-half of the season. I’m not aware that he’s asked to leave or he’s been put on the market.”

Nkunku chance could come after Nicolas Jackson suspension

It may be a case of Nkunku having to take the first opportunity he gets in the Premier League, although this could come very soon.

Jackson is one yellow card away a suspension, and this would open up a spot for the £52m signing to finally earn some regular minutes at Stamford Bridge.

It is fair to say that Nkunku has not had an easy run of things since making the move to Chelsea. His whole first season at the club was ruined by various injuries, but he is now fit and firing, ready for his opportunity to prove his worth.
