‘A big talent’: Club chief is delighted with signing player from Chelsea on deadline day

Tottenham Director of Football Fabio Paratici has claimed on the official club YouTube channel that he is delighted he has signed Jude Soonsup-Bell from Chelsea.

The youngster had made the decision that he wanted to leave after not being able to see a path to the first team.

Opportunities have certainly been handed to those who’ve earned them since Graham Potter took over the club.

Lewis Hall has established himself as a first team player in recent months, after making his debut in the Carabao Cup before Christmas.

He has since been keeping big summer signing Marc Cucurella out the team at times too, despite often playing in his less favoured position of left-back.

Soonsup-Bell however didn’t see this path, and found suitors in London rivals Spurs.

Paratici has now claimed that they are delighted with the addition, however will not be placing any additional pressure on his shoulders.

He said: “He’s a big talent. He was always a big talent in England and when we got the opportunity to sign him, we signed him. We don’t have to put a lot of pressure on these younger players.

“I think this is the most important thing for them is to get the right time under pressure about the level but has the right time to grow up and become better in their skills.”

Signings between rival sides is not uncommon at this level of the game.

Omari Hutchinson was showing signs at Arsenal before he decided to leave last summer, eventually ending up at Chelsea.

While he has a number of first team appearances under his belt now, it looked as if he was set for a loan move during the final hours of January.

However, things collapsed in the final moments with West Brom, and therefore he remains at Stamford Bridge.
