Ray Parlour claims that Roma frontman Tammy Abraham has been “absolutely brilliant” since Chelsea agreed to sell him.

Abraham, who came through the academy at Chelsea, was sold by the Blues last summer.

The 24-year-old completed a move to Italian club Roma, with their manager Jose Mourinho putting faith in him to be the frontline striker.

He’s fully repaid Mourinho’s trust by scoring 25 goals so far this season in all competitions, including a header on Thursday night that put Roma into the UEFA Europa Conference League final at the expense of Leicester City.

TalkSPORT pundit Parlour is really impressed by Abraham’s development since leaving Stamford Bridge.

“He went to Roma under Jose and he’s been absolutely brilliant. He’s got himself back into the England squad, fair play to him,” Parlour told talkSPORT.

Chelsea mistake?

It does feel like right now the decision to offload Abraham has backfired.

Roma have now reportedly put a mega £100million valuation on their star centre-forward, who’s quickly become a serious fan favourite in the Italian capital.

His record in Chelsea’s first team was decent, scoring 30 goals in 82 appearances. However, he was let go and replaced by Romelu Lukaku at Stamford Bridge.

Micah Richards recently said he’s surprised by the impact Abraham has made in Serie A, but he’s a player that’s scored pretty much anywhere he’s played in his career.

Aged 24, there’s still more levels the England international can reach.

Chelsea are in a position now where they’re crying out for a goal machine in their squad.
