Michail Antonio has claimed that he cannot believe what happened during Chelsea’s recent Premier League victory over Burnley.
He told ‘The Footballer’s Football Podcast’ that the referees stopping the game to check an offside despite the game already restarting was not fair on the Blues.
Raheem Sterling had just struck to make it 3-1 to Chelsea at the time, with him latching on to a Conor Gallagher through ball.

Just after the game kicked off though, it was stopped again so the officials could check again to see if he had strayed offside before scoring.
The rules state that there is nothing that can be done after the game has started again, even if the Englishman was in an offside position.
Antonio has claimed the decision to even look was baffling, especially seeing what had recently happened at Tottenham.
Antonio baffled at what happened to Chelsea
He said: “No way! That’s to be fair, I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but I feel like sometimes officials kill themselves more than necessary. They have done something the week before – just stick to what you have done.
“Just go you know what I have made a decision, it’s happened, he’s done it and the fact that the referee did it last week I’m going to do it this week. I’m not going to change it! This is now the rule, even if it wasn’t the rule, this is now the rule for the season.

“The fact that he has done it this week, what on earth is going to happen next? It’s actually a madness.”
Liverpool had what should have been a perfectly good goal chalked off just a week earlier against Spurs.
Thankfully, Sterling was onside on this occasion, and we didn’t have to see what would happen if the referees realised they had made a mistake.
