Alan Shearer has looked ahead towards this weekend’s game between Chelsea and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

The Blues host Forest on Sunday afternoon at Stamford Bridge in their final match before the October international break.

Enzo Maresca’s side currently sit fourth in the Premier League table after a solid start to the campaign. Incidentally, speaking this week via Sky Sports, Moises Caicedo confirmed Chelsea are targeting a top-four finish.

Alan Shearer predicts Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest

Alan Shearer has tipped Chelsea to get a winning result against Forest this weekend.

“Chelsea are flying, there’s no doubt about it. Forest had a poor result at home against Fulham and will be looking to bounce back but with the form Chelsea are in, and in particular Cole Palmer, I’d have to say Chelsea will win once again,” Shearer told The Metro.

Attack vs defence

It’s going to be an interesting clash of styles on Sunday. While Chelsea have been scoring goals for fun this campaign, Forest have largely looked defensively resilient, and that’s a hallmark of their manager, Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Blues have scored 15 goals during the opening six gameweeks in the league, which is more than any other team in the division.

As for Forest, they’ve only conceded five goals in six league matches this season. It’s actually the joint-second best defensive record along with Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham. So far, Liverpool are the only club in the division to concede less (two).

Maresca’s Chelsea have ripped through a lot of opponents by attacking with pace, directness and numbers. Let’s see if they’ve got the skill and patience to do the same versus Forest.
