Alan Shearer has now shared what he noticed about the Stamford Bridge crowd during Chelsea’s FA Cup quarter-final against Leicester yesterday.

He told ‘The Rest is Football’ that he the unrest he noticed in West London was the loudest he had heard or seen there throughout this whole season.

Chelsea booked another trip to Wembley with a 4-2 win yesterday, putting Mauricio Pochettino in a position where he is one step closer to finally breaking his trophy duck in England.

Despite the fact that they were victorious, it was far from all smiles for the majority of the game, with the crowd in attendance clearly unhappy at what they were seeing.

A lot of the backlash was aimed in the direction of Raheem Sterling, who had an afternoon to forget.

He missed a first-half penalty after taking it off teammate and reliable taker Cole Palmer, before missing an absolute sitter just minutes later.

Firing arguably the worst free-kick ever seen did little to help his cause either, and the crowd was heated when Mykhailo Mudryk was the first player replaced instead of the England international.

Shearer has shared that the reaction to the player and manager was the louded he has heard this season.

He said: “It was the loudest I’d heard it. I’ve not been to all of their games but I’ve watched a lot of their games. It was probably the loudest I’ve heard it in terms of the booing and the disagreement with his decisions, getting on Raheem’s back, but you’ve gotta give credit to Mauricio, he made the substitutions and his subs worked. They went on to win the game.”

It was noted that the crowd were actually a bit more appreciative of Sterling when he was finally replaced, and it was his replacement who put the final touches on their win.

A stunning goal from Noni Madueke capped off the quarter-final, and left some thinking that the manager’s mind could be made for the upcoming weeks in terms of who starts.
