Chelsea have a lot of players who are not training with the first team, with Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell now part of that list.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca confirmed in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday that Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell were no longer with his group.
The former has since lost his shirt number, with that going to new signing Pedro Neto.
Unsurprisingly, Sterling now wants a transfer away from Chelsea, which he should get. Following the arrival of Joao Felix, there is definitely no room for him in the squad.

The Chelsea players not currently training with the first team
Of course, Sterling and Chilwell are not the only ones who are not working directly under Maresca at the minute.
According to journalist Nizaar Kinsella, there is a “loan group” who have been training under Carlo Cudicini.
The full list includes: Sterling, Chilwell, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Armando Broja, David Datro Fofana, Romelu Lukaku, Trevoh Chalobah, Cesare Casadei, Angelo, Lucas Bergstrom, Deivid Washington, Tino Anjorin, Alex Matos, Harvey Vale.
Meanwhile, Omari Kellyman, Leo Castledine, Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George have been with the U21s.
Casadei, though, was recently spotted with Maresca’s group ahead of Chelsea‘s Conference League game against Servette tonight, while Broja is now set to join newly-promoted Ipswich Town.
What exactly has Enzo Maresca said about Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell?
All Maresca did on Wednesday was basically confirm the above. Speaking to beIN SPORTS and other outlets about Sterling and Chilwell, the 44-year-old said: “In this moment, they are training apart.
“We have a big squad, for me it’s impossible to give everyone minutes. So if they’re looking for minutes, probably it is better to leave.”
There now looks to be no way back for either Sterling or Chilwell, who could end up moving to two of Chelsea’s Premier League rivals.
Sterling is on Aston Villa’s radar, while it has been claimed that Chilwell has been offered to Manchester United.
For the left-wing position, Maresca has so many options, including new signings Neto and Felix. As for the left-back role, Marc Cucurella and Renato Veiga can both play there, so the former Leicester City manager will not be worried about Sterling and Chilwell leaving the club this summer.
