Chelsea have not been afraid to spend big money again on their first team squad, however Ally McCoist believes one of their additions could prove to be an excellent piece of business.
Despite a very strong first season from Enzo Maresca, culminating with a top four finish and two trophies won, the Blues have strengthened their squad greatly ahead of the 2025/26 season.
A lot of pundits are backing Chelsea to have an even better campaign this time around, with Micah Richards saying they are one signing away from a serious title charge.
The likes of Jamie Gittens and Estevao Willian provide excitement for both the present and the future, while Liam Delap brings guaranteed Premier League goalscoring to a side who missed that from their number nine last season.

Ally McCoist convinced Joao Pedro is a ‘bargain’ signing for Chelsea
The Englishman is already facing significant competition from his position though in the form of Joao Pedro, whose start to life at Chelsea couldn’t have gone any better.
The Brazilian has five goals in his first five appearances, and Chris Sutton has said Pedro has excited him going into the new season.
McCoist is another who is very high on the former Brighton man. He told TalkSPORT that he thinks the addition of Pedro could end up being a ‘bargain’ for Chelsea.
He said: “Joao Pedro will be a fantastic signing for Chelsea, they have got a bit of a bargain there. I’ll be honest with you, I thought he would be a good signing, but having seen the start he has had, he could be a great signing.”

Chelsea desperate to sell because of Joao Pedro
Chelsea’s elaborate spending this summer has seen them need to part ways with a number of individuals too, after a ruling from UEFA saw them fined back in July.
In order to stay on the right side of the line with the European governing body, the Blues have needed to raise significant money on transfer fees ahead of their return to the Champions League.
They will want to register all their new signings for the upcoming campaign in Europe, however have needed to push players out the door for this to happen.
Chelsea were desperate to sell Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to make this happen, and this will no doubt continue when it comes to the likes of Axel Disasi, Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson later in the window.
