Ally McCoist was not impressed with Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United last night.
Chelsea‘s midfield and defence were really poor, with the team going on to concede 28 shots in total during the game, according to BBC Sport.
And Ally McCoist, who was commentating on the match for Prime Video, said he was disappointed with what he saw from Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.
Mauricio Pochettino definitely would have wanted to have seen more from the two South Americans.
Chelsea paid a fortune to bring in both midfielders, but they really struggled against Scott McTominay and Sofyan Amrabat.
Ally McCoist disappointed with Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo
Chelsea players have really come under fire following the loss to United, with Alan Shearer criticising Levi Colwill for his role in the winning goal.
As for McCoist, he was really not impressed with the England international’s two team-mates in midfield.
Commentating on Prime Video, the Rangers legend said: “I’m a little bit disappointed in Fernandez and Caicedo in the middle of the park for Chelsea. I definitely think you’re looking for a little bit more for your quarter of a billion.”

Did Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo underperform against Manchester United?
All of a sudden, Conor Gallagher now looks undroppable. The 23-year-old missed the encounter at Old Trafford because of suspension and his absence looked to have really hurt Fernandez and Caicedo.
They were overrun in midfield, perhaps missing the energy Gallagher brings.
It was not good enough given their quality and how much the club have spent on them. United’s double pivot of McTominay and Amrabat is hardly world class either. They should have never got dominated like that.
Mauricio Pochettino has to take a lot of the responsibility as well, however. He needed to change something after seeing Fernandez and Caicedo struggling so much, though the Argentine can argue that he had a lack of options with the likes of Gallagher and Romeo Lavia unavailable for the fixture.
