Craig Burley has praised Manchester City’s move this summer to sign Chelsea star Mateo Kovacic.
Blues midfielder Mateo Kovacic, 29, is reportedly very close to completing a transfer to the Etihad Stadium during this window.
In fact, well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter this week that Kovacic’s switch to Man City is a “done deal” for around £30million.
The Croatia international looks to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge after 221 Blues appearances.

ESPN pundit Burley has showered Premier League champions Man City for big praise regarding this imminent transfer.
He’s explained that Chelsea’s central midfielder has a lot of quality and is going to be a good fit for Pep Guardiola’s squad.
“I think this is great business at that price. I think he’s a terrific player who can do a bit of everything. Doesn’t score a lot of goals but scores some great ones. Good passer, good vision, tenacious, and can defend. He ticks a lot of boxes,” Burley told ESPN.

With just one year left on his Chelsea deal, Kovacic’s exit this summer does make a lot of sense.
However, it says a lot that a City team who just won a famous treble want to add him to their squad.
We’re fully expecting the technically gifted central midfielder to thrive in a side that always seems to dominate possession in games.
Incidentally, The Telegraph recently claimed that those inside Chelsea do think that Kovacic’s sale this summer is great business.
This may fall into the category of a deal that suits everyone involved.
