Albania manager Sylvinho has claimed that Chelsea’s Armando Broja is not currently available to feature for his country during this international break.

He told NewSport that the striker was assessed after a couple of days being with the national team, although the decision has been made with the Blues too that he won’t be playing.

It was looking as if Broja was finally returning to full fitness following an injury that ended his season all the way back in December last year.

He started his first game for over eight months last week, keeping Nicolas Jackson on the bench despite his return from suspension.

The academy graduate was on the scoresheet against Fulham in the Premier League, opening his account for the campaign and potentially setting up a real battle for the number nine spot at Stamford Bridge.

Broja injured

However, it seems as if Broja may have fallen foul of injuries again as the international break brings it’s regular interruption to Premier League action.

Sylvinho has claimed he does not have his star man available for selection for the upcoming games due to a problem noticed during the camp.

He said: “As for Broja, I have to give bad news. He was with the team for only 2 days. After consulting with our doctors and Chelsea’s, he can’t make it, he won’t be ready for tomorrow. We have other players to evaluate.”

Broja will be praying things are not too bad after he missed so much football at the back-end of last season, and the start of this one.

He will be hoping to be in contention to start when domestic football returns with the visit of Arsenal in a week’s time.
