Frank Lampard has now tipped three current Chelsea players to be big stars for them in the future.

He told Steven Bartlett’s ‘Diary of a CEO’ podcast that he believes Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke have the abilities to develop into crucial players going forward.

Lampard has had the opportunity to work with a large portion of the current Chelsea squad, after he took charge on an interim basis to cap off last season.

He walked in to a squad where a lot of players had downed tools well in advance, as they begun to look towards their future away from Stamford Bridge.

This may have seen him give priority to some of the players brought in on long contracts during the January transfer window.

He started Fernandez in every single game he managed, whilst making sure he gave plenty of praise in the media for Noni Madueke as he began to break in to the starting side at the end of the season.

Mudryk also showed glimpses of his talent, although he has looked like he needs a lot more coaching to be at the level the club will require.

Lampard has backed the trio for big things however as they enter their first full season in West London.

He said: “They’ve spent that money because they want to do well now. That’s their strategy going forward, but I do think you’ll see players like Enzo Fernandez, Mudryk, Madueke. Young players, they’re going to develop and they’re going to be big players for the club.

“You have to get the structure right and the strategy right going forward.”

The Blues are hoping the new feel-good era at the club since Mauricio Pochettino has come in will translate into results on the pitch.
