Chelsea travel to the Amex Stadium tomorrow night to face Brighton in a cup tie, but they’ve reportedly had a fresh injury blow this week.
Chelsea play away at Brighton on Saturday night in the fourth round of this season’s FA Cup.
Cole Palmer really wants to win trophies at Chelsea. In terms of this season, the Blues are still alive in the FA Cup and the Conference League as they hunt for silverware.
It would be a great achievement if head coach Enzo Maresca can win a trophy during his first season in the dugout at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea player to miss FA Cup tie vs Brighton through injury
According to The Athletic, Chelsea’s Marc Guiu is expected to miss the cup fixture away at Brighton this weekend after suffering a leg abductor injury.
The 19-year-old centre-forward picked up the problem on Monday night after coming on as a substitute during the 2-1 Premier League victory at home to West Ham.
Apparently, Guiu has missed training sessions this week at Cobham because of the issue.
The report says that the Spanish teenager is being earmarked to sit out of Saturday’s match as a precaution because he’s had pain in his upper leg in recent days after tests. Chelsea hope it’s nothing too serious for the centre-forward, but he’s set to have more scans on the problem.
Guiu was impressive off the Chelsea bench versus West Ham as he got some rare Premier League minutes at the start of the week. It’s a real setback that he’ll miss the upcoming FA Cup game, though.
Jason Cundy thought Guiu was “brilliant” in the Conference League earlier in the season when he scored a hat-trick against Shamrock Rovers, which showed a snippet of his talent and potential.

Marc Guiu was predicted to start vs Brighton
Guiu was included in Chelsea’s predicted line-up against Brighton ahead of the weekend, but that was before the news broke about his injury knock.
It felt like the perfect opportunity for the young striker to come into the starting XI. Instead, he’s going to miss out on a great chance to further his case for more minutes this season.
With Nicolas Jackson struggling as the club’s first-choice striker right now, failing to score in eight consecutive matches, the door has been left ajar for someone to take his place.
John Obi Mikel wants Christopher Nkunku to replace Jackson as Chelsea’s starting No.9 due to the latter’s poor form.
It certainly leaves Maresca with a big decision to make tomorrow evening at Brighton. If we we’re predicting the team right now, we’d guess Jackson will retain his spot to lead the line again.
