Jamie Carragher has praised Chelsea’s deadline day signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by admitting he’s delighted to see him back in English football.

Aubameyang, 33, completed a transfer yesterday from Barcelona to Chelsea before the window shut

The centre-forward is back in the Premier League after some successful years at Arsenal, but he’ll now be playing on the blue side of London.

His record of 92 goals in 163 Arsenal appearances is very encouraging. He previously enjoyed great goalscoring success when Blues manager Thomas Tuchel coached him at Borussia Dortmund, too.

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has given a big thumbs up on Aubameyang’s move to Stamford Bridge.

Carragher praised Aubameyang signing

Sky Sports pundit Carragher has described Chelsea’s new No.9 as ” brilliant player” that’s a good addition to Tuchel’s squad.

“He’s a quality player, there’s no doubt about that. I think it’s a good signing. People may question Arsenal’s role in this; the fact that they let him go for free, and now Chelsea are paying money for him,” Carragher said.

“I think it’s a good signing for Chelsea, but I actually think it was the right decision by Mikel Arteta and Arsenal. Look where they are right now.

“We know what he brings; goals and quality, but at times maybe situations and misdemeanours off the pitch or within the dressing room, and Mikel Arteta couldn’t stand that.

“Thomas Tuchel knows him. He knows him well. He’s worked with him at Borussia Dortmund. As a neutral, I’m delighted he’s in the Premier League. He’s a brilliant player. You don’t want to see players like that leave our league.”

New-look attack

It’s going to be intriguing to see what Tuchel’s best line-up will look like by the time everyone’s fit and available in his squad.

For certain, Raheem Sterling’s the most in-form Chelsea attacker that belongs in the best XI.

Hopefully, the arrival of Aubameyang is enough to give Kai Havertz a push and help the German rediscover his best form.

Meanwhile, young Blues striker Armando Broja should love working alongside Chelsea’s new No.9 every day to pick up tricks from an expert finisher.
