England great Bryan Robson has delivered a positive verdict on Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, but has noticed he can be a bit wild with his tackling.
Conor Gallagher, 23, has integrated himself into a first-team regular at Stamford Bridge this season.
The Blues academy graduate did things the hard way after numerous spells out on loan, but he’s now part of the senior group in West London. Incidentally, he’s made 36 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
Despite only just forcing his way into contention at Chelsea, Gallagher is actually linked with a summer exit.
The Evening Standard claimed earlier this week that Gallagher is attracting interest from the likes of West Ham and Newcastle United this summer. In fact, the report says that Chelsea views the 23-year-old as one of their more saleable assets, so he could be let go for the right price.

Robson, who’s gone down as one of England’s greatest ever players, has commented on Gallagher.
He’s quite a big fan of the energetic central midfielder. He feels he can put in some full-blooded tackles, though.
“Love the energy he brings, the enthusiasm and the attitude he has but his best form was at Crystal Palace when he had a run of regular games. He is rash in his tackling but is young and can improve,” Robson told the Daily Mail.

In fairness, Gallagher’s got nine yellow cards and one red card to his name this season.
The England international is always keen to impress when he’s on the pitch and often presses opponents at full tilt.
We certainly don’t want him to lose his rawness and desire to win the ball back. It’s an area of his game he will develop and understand more with extra experience.
