Burnley manager Vincent Kompany thinks that Chelsea have been extremely unlucky in the opening couple of months of the season.

Newly-promoted Burnley host Chelsea this Saturday afternoon in a Premier League fixture, with both teams going into the contest fresh off rare victories this campaign.

Chelsea recorded an emphatic 4-0 away win on their most recent travel to Turf Moor, which took place exactly 17 months ago during the 2021/22 campaign. It’s fair to say things are very different for both clubs now, though.

Kompany believes that Chelsea have been very impressive so far under Mauricio Pochettino, this is despite only collecting eight points from the first seven league matches this season.

He’s noticed that the Blues look like a really strong team right now.

“They’re a talented side, really talented. The first question that pops up to my mind is how unlucky they’ve been really,” Kompany said, as quoted by Football Daily.

“When I look at the game and see what they’re doing, I see a very good side with very good players.”

In fairness, we’ve liked plenty of what we’ve seen from Chelsea in the opening phase of the season. However, the points on the board speak for itself and you can’t complain too much when you fail to take your chances.

The Blues are beginning to take some opportunities in the past couple of games, so let’s hope they can keep up this momentum ahead of the international break.

The Chelsea Chronicle has predicted the starting line-up that Pochettino may select against Burnley.

Kompany’s side have conceded the second most amount of goals in the Premier League so far this season (16), which is why this may be a real opening for Chelsea’s attackers to redeem themselves.
