Carney Chukwuemeka believes Chelsea could have a really dangerous player on their hands in Noni Madueke.
Noni Madueke started in Chelsea‘s 3-2 win against Luton Town yesterday and managed to score in it with a brilliant strike.
Since then, his team-mate Carney Chukwuemeka has taken to Instagram to warn everyone about the winger, as well as Cole Palmer, who bagged the Blues’ other two goals.
On his Instagram story, Chukwuemeka put the text “scary sight” on an image of Madueke and Palmer.
The two Chelsea players definitely did give Luton defenders a torrid time, and Mauricio Pochettino will now be hoping for similar performances in his side’s next Premier League outing against Fulham later this month. They really cannot afford any more slip ups if they are still aiming to qualify for the Champions League.
Noni Madueke a scary winger
Madueke is not the kind of winger full-backs want to play against. His end product is not always there, which is understandable given that he is still just 21. That goal against Luton was only his first from open play this season, though he has obviously not played every minute of the campaign.
However, while Madueke’s finishing can still improve, he remains a deadly winger in one-v-one situations, which is why he is such a terrifying wide man to take on.
Last season, the England U21 international completed 2.8 dribbles per game in the Premier League, more than any other Chelsea player (WhoScored).
When you consider all of the above, perhaps Madueke should have had more opportunities than what he has actually had by this point of the campaign. For whatever reason, though, Pochettino was overlooking him.
However, the Argentine is now using Madueke and is benefiting by doing so. He is scoring goals for the Blues, with Luton manager Rob Edwards impressed with his one against the Hatters.
