Just two days after the news of Enzo Maresca’s departure, Chelsea are tipped to make an official offer to Liam Rosenior.
We’ve passed the point by which time a manager could be hired for the Man City game, but we might have an official announcement before Sunday’s 5.30 kickoff.
Liam Rosenior has been the frontrunner for the Chelsea job since it was revealed that Maresca would be leaving.
The Strasbourg coach is already a BlueCo employee, so the negotiations and eventual transition should be straightforward.

Details on Chelsea’s approach for Liam Rosenior
The Blues aren’t wasting any time in sorting out their current vacancy.
It was said that Rosenior wouldn’t come until Strasbourg had their succession plan, but this new information likely means one of Will Still or Eric Ramsay is edging closer to the role.
That gives Chelsea the green light to get this move done.
As Rudy Galetti revealed on X: “Chelsea held a direct call this morning regarding Liam Rosenior, currently the main candidate to become the new head coach. No direct contact with other coaches has been made so far, despite other names being on the shortlist, as revealed.
“The board is considering offering Rosenior a contract of at least 2,5 years. A proposal is expected later tonight, and, if all goes to plan, he could make his debut on the bench against Fulham.”
No long saga. No multiple offers. It sounds like this is going to be a routine transfer — admittedly one that won’t be taken well by everyone.

Liam Rosenior should get the full backing of Chelsea fans
There are inevitably going to be those among supporters of the Blues that condemn this move for a manager with little experience at the top level.
The reality is that Rosenior suits the goals of the club. It’s not to say those goals are the right ones, but if a ‘training-ground’ manager is what Chelsea’s hierarchy want, there are plenty worse options than the Strasbourg head coach.

Whatever your opinion, it won’t do any good to condemn his arrival.
Chelsea are in a difficult moment, and the best thing for everyone is to get behind Rosenior for the second half of the season, and reassess in the summer.
