Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali will be delighted with Enzo Maresca’s men after their Club World Cup success over the weekend.

The Blues were able to get their hands on more silverware after beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the Club World Cup final.

They have also banked a lot of prize money following their win against PSG and the other sides they defeated en route to the trophy.

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol now thinks Chelsea can win the Premier League, but the decision makers at Stamford Bridge have a warning for Maresca‘s team.

Chelsea bosses urge players to remain humble

Chelsea are a very young side, but they have already tasted success. As well as winning the Club World Cup, the Blues have also managed to get their hands on the Conference League trophy while qualifying for the Champions League.

According to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, though, “the message to the players” from those in charge at Chelsea is that they need to remain humble.

That may be hard after beating the European champions comfortably, but the club have a strict and firm coach in Maresca who should be able to keep this young Chelsea team grounded.

They kick off their 2025/26 Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace at home in a game that the Club World Cup champions will be expected to win.

Before then, several exits are likely, with Chelsea still looking to sell Joao Felix and others.

Chelsea’s approach to remainder of transfer window

While the Blues want to get rid of the likes of Felix, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell, they are not actively trying to sell any of their first-team stars, according to Solhekol.

The Sky Sports reporter has also stated that Chelsea need to make sales before they make any more signings.

Jamie Gittens is their latest big-money arrival, with the England Under-21 international having joined from Borussia Dortmund earlier this month.
