Chelsea have spent big money to address the striker position this summer, however are already making big moves to bring in another option in 12 months’ time.
The Blues added Liam Delap and Joao Pedro to their ranks already in this transfer window, and both have already given glimpses into what they will bring to the club during the Club World Cup victory.
The Brazilian in particular made an instant impact, scoring three goals in just two starts in the semi-final and final of the competition.
There could still be a move away from the club for Nicolas Jackson, who didn’t make an appearance in the final against PSG, and was sent off during their only defeat against Flamengo.

Chelsea closing in on signing Emanuel Emegha next summer
Chelsea have priced Manchester United out of a deal, although a season where he does not have the opportunities he would like could see his time in West London come to an end.
Emanuel Emegha has emerged as a target of the club due to his performances for Strasbourg last season, a club under the same BlueCo ownership as Chelsea.
Emegha has been linked to Newcastle as well as other top sides, however it looks as if Chelsea are going to beat the lot to the exciting young striker.
SportsZone have claimed that the Blues are closing in on reaching an agreement with the player over personal terms, with a deal set to be made next summer.
They said: “Emanuel Emegha and Chelsea FC are closing in on an agreement over personal terms for next summer. RB Leipzig are well aware of this, but have asked Chelsea what is possible, as they are considering Emegha a top priority in the event that Šeško moves.”

Emegha’s pace compared to other Premier League stars
One key trait of Emegha’s game is his pace. Alongside his tall frame, he is an extremely difficult entity for opposition defences to deal with.
According to Foot Mercato, the Dutchman clocked in at 37.7 KM/H last season in Ligue 1, a figure that puts him ahead of any Premier League player.
| Rank | Player | Top speed (km/h) |
| 1. | Micky van de Ven | 37.1 |
| 2. | Matheus Nunes | 36.7 |
| 3. | Bryan Mbeumo | 36.6 |
| 4. | Yankuba Minteh | 36.4 |
| 5. | Anthony Elanga | 36.2 |
If Jackson was to leave, the Blues would be left with three very strong options to play up front should Emegha join, as they continue with the project of signing young players.
