The decision makers at Chelsea will have just been given more clarity over the signings they need to make this summer.
The Blues kicked off pre-season with a 2-2 draw against Wrexham, with Enzo Maresca getting his first look at his new squad in action.
While there were a number of positives, notably the performance of Lesley Ugochukwu, there were no doubt areas that need addressing before the Premier League season gets underway with the visit of Manchester City.

Reports have stated that a winger is high on the agenda if Chelsea are looking to make another addition this summer, and they have now been linked with one player from their opening day opponents.
Chelsea considering move for Oscar Bobb
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Blues are weighing up a move for Oscar Bobb, hoping for a similar result to the impact made by Cole Palmer at Stamford Bridge.

Pep Guardiola has already been really impressed by the winger during this pre-season campaign, describing him as ‘incredible’.
Despite impressing during his time on the pitch last season, appearances and minutes have become few and far between for Bobb.
Bobb parallels with Cole Palmer
The parallels with Palmer there are clear to see, and the fact he was one of the most impressive players in the Premier League last season will no doubt weigh on his mind.
Any left-winger coming into the club will be competing for minutes with both Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling, with neither establishing themselves as a guaranteed starter up to now.
Last night’s friendly against Wrexham saw Tyrique George start in the wide position, and impress a lot in his first appearance as a first team player.
Sterling was brought on to replace him at half-time, however was unable to have the impact he will have been hoping for as he enters last chance territory at Stamford Bridge.
