After Thomas Tuchel was announced as the new England manager, it didn’t take long before Chelsea’s coaching staff were raided.

Hilario’s near 20-year spell at Stamford Bridge has come to an end as he joins up with the Three Lions, with the German no doubt keen to get things right in his first venture into international management.

While Enzo Maresca brought his own set of staff with him when he became Chelsea manager last summer, however some have remained from previous managers.

Graham Potter could take Chelsea staff members with him to West Ham

One of those coaches is Ben Roberts, who works in the goalkeeping department after joining with Graham Potter.

The Englishman didn’t even last a season at Stamford Bridge, however has taken his first job back in management at West Ham.

He will obviously have a say over who is supporting him, and this could see the Hammers approach the Blues for some staff members.

Kieran Gill has stated that Roberts could be a target, as well as recruitment analyst Kyle Macaulay may be subject of approaches.

He said: “Ben Roberts (goalkeeping coach) and Kyle Macaulay (recruitment analyst) came to Chelsea with Graham Potter in 2022 and are still on staff. After Thomas Tuchel’s raids, CFC could face further approaches, particularly for Macaulay.”

Robert Sanchez could be in trouble if Graham Potter takes Chelsea coach Ben Roberts

It was reported that Roberts played a key part in Chelsea signing Robert Sanchez for £25m in 2023, with him the current number one at the club.

The pair have a good relationship. Sanchez was even in tears when Roberts joined Chelsea before he eventually made his own move.

Chelsea fans have not been so convinced by the Spaniard, and a few high-profile errors have definitely cost the Blues points this season.

It remains to be seen if a potential Roberts departure has an impact on Sanchez’s Chelsea career, with Filip Jorgensen waiting in the wings to make his mark if he gets the chance on a regular basis.
