Chelsea’s start to the season has impressed on all fronts, and a lot of praise has gone the way of the new man on charge.

There were no doubt one or two eyebrows raised when the Blues made the decision to hire Enzo Maresca, most recently of the Championship, to replace Mauricio Pochettino at the helm.

However, the higher ups at the club have been very impressed with Maresca, in particular the way he has carried himself in what is clearer the biggest job he has had in his career.

Credit therefore has to go to the staff who are working alongside the Italian. Former player Willy Caballero is one of those who has made an impact since signing on.

Those who came in kept Hilario on board, whose time at Chelsea has spanned 18 years back form when he was mostly a back-up goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge.

Hilario resigns from Chelsea role

Reports began to spread when the new England manager was announced that Thomas Tuchel wanted to bring Hilario on board with him, although no immediate decision or agreement was reached.

It looks as if that is done now though. According to The Telegraph, the coach has handed in his resignation to leave the club and join up with the Three Lions.

Tuchel didn’t wait long to get the old band together, many of which were with him during his very successful period at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea not set to hire new goalkeeping coach

Chelsea fans will understand the genius of bringing Anthony Barry on board, with him being a key part of the coaching staff when the Blues won the Champions League in 2021.

The report goes on to say that Chelsea will not be replacing Hilario at this moment, with them well stocked for goalkeeping options in their staff.

The current setup are keeping faith in Robert Sanchez as the number one for the moment, while Chelsea fans continue to question if he is good enough to be their shot-stopper.
