Former Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic is one of the poster boys for the 2026 World Cup in North America, and is surely a candidate for a big summer transfer.

The Blues parted ways with Pulisic in 2023, and he has since gone on to be one of the most impactful attackers in European football with AC Milan.

He is the most familiar face in Mauricio Pochettino’s United States side, and the host nation have been impressive in booking their place in the Round of 16.

Who will be a bigger success – Enzo Maresca or Xabi Alonso? 🤔

City have confirmed Maresca will replace Guardiola.

Chelsea set for ‘meaningful sell-on clause’ if Christian Pulisic gets transfer this summer

At 27 years of age, Pulisic is running out of time to secure one final massive transfer, and being front and centre at the World Cup could give him the best possible chance at a move.

Any move would come with significant interest to former club, Chelsea, who as per The Athletic in 2023 have a ‘meaningful sell-on clause’ for any future move away from Milan.

Given the club’s precarious financial situation, any injection of cash will be welcome at Stamford Bridge, as they look to continue to strengthen their squad.

A new attacker is on the agenda in West London for Xabi Alonso’s side, after the majority of players signed by the club to replace Pulisic.

Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens combined for one Premier League goal between them last season, and delivered performances that are not good enough for a side with the ambitions of Chelsea.

Chelsea haven’t improved in attack since Pulisic left

During this World Cup, Pulisic has been compared to Eden Hazard by former teammate Olivier Giroud, despite the fact that he has spent a large portion of this tournament so far struggling with an injury.

Many believe it was one of BlueCo’s early errors to part ways with Pulisic for such a low fee, especially when the replacements have not hit the levels required to move the club forwards.

However, one final financial injection this summer would be more than welcome, and something he will surely earn if Pulisic enjoys a strong second half of the World Cup.
