Reports have claimed that Chelsea youngster Alfie Gilchrist has just signed a new contact with the club.
According to Football London, he has extended his commitment to the Blues by signing a new deal in the face of serious transfer interest from Premier League sides.
Gilchrist was one of the young players who was selected to represent the club as they travelled to the United States on pre-season duty.

He even got the opportunity to play for the Blues as the crisis of injuries at the back began to hit them.
Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah have both been ruled out for a while now after an issue before the season even began.
The former is expected to be out for majority of the season after what is deemed to be a serious knee injury.
Gilchrist signs new contract
Gilchrist was seen on the bench therefore for the game against Bournemouth at the weekend, and it seems he has had an impression on manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The youngster has previously claimed he has been very impressed with the atmosphere the Argentine has brought to the club since joining.
He said: “Mauricio and his coaching staff have been great with me. Obviously I went to America with the first team and then I’ve been in and out of training with the first team.

“Yesterday when he saw me, starts rubbing my head or something like that, little fist bumps and good morning, they’re all so friendly.
“Every morning they come down, even in the gym, say hello. It’s a real friendly, family atmosphere.”
With his future looking bright, the Blues have done a good job in securing his services ahead of potentially loaning him out.
